He's ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Owen reached his one year milestone last Wednesday, October 14th! And of course it poured down rain all day long...(it hasn't rained here since March!) But that didn't stop us from having a great day. Matt took the day off work so that we could enjoy the day as a family. Owen had his check-up...I know-mean mommy for scheduling shots that day...won't do that again for sure! He weighs 25lbs. and is 31 in. long. He's a big boy with a huge appetite. It's hard to believe how fast the past year has gone. It really seems like yesterday I was in the hospital anxiously awaiting his arrival. Now he is taking several steps at a time, puckers up when he wants a kiss, and on the flip side throws a bit of a fit when he doesn't get what he wants! He is the sunshine of our lives! Busy little man

Owen is quite the active boy these days. He is pushing around all kinds of things and took his first few steps the other day!Can't believe we are approaching his 1st birthday. Where does the time go?

Play time and My Gym

This is not Owen's time out chair...Ha! He loves to be in his toy basket, boxes, anything he can get "into". So we piled a bunch of stuffed animals on him and he sat in there for like 5 whole minutes. He loved it.

He has just recently noticed stuffed animals and will snuggle with them for a second.

We have been going to a place called My Gym. They have classes for all age groups. We go once, sometimes 2 times a week. He absolutely loves it. It wears him out!

This was "parent separation time" where all the kids are put in the middle by their parents and then the parents "disappear." He doesn't mind at all that I am not right next to him. He tends to watch the other kids rather than play with the toys, but he's getting more aggressive each time we go.

11 Months!

Finally, after a very hectic few weeks of moving and trying to get settled into the new place, I found the right computer/camera cords and am back to blogging. It took Owen about a week to settle into his new environment, screeching constantly to test the acoustics I guess. We chose to move during what has been the hottest week this year. We made it, and Owen is as busy as ever, still army crawling, pulling himself up to everything, and testing out all of the new cabinets. He will be 11 months old on Monday. Doesn't seem possible. He cracks himself up, laughing at who knows what sometimes. He is starting to have little conversations with us, even though we have no idea what he's saying. The new trick lately is that he can point to a ball and a nose in a book when asked where it is, but won't point to his own nose yet. Too funny.

After eating peas one day for lunch, I found one in his belly button. He didn't understand why I was laughing so hard, but he joined in the laughter anyway.

He got into all kinds of mischief as we were packing and moving.

Owen has opened up a new world for himself. He had been pulling himself up to us for a while, but now he is pulling up to everything. Everything. We are in the process of moving, and trying to keep this place child proof in the meantime is about impossible. Now when I open the door after his nap, he shines a proud smile as he looks at me over the crib rails. It just keeps getting more and more fun for everyone:)

Wild Man

A little afternoon fun. Owen is repeating all kinds of sounds and loves to yell! As you can see, he also loves to empty all the small trash cans around...he's into everything. He turned 10 months old last Friday. Today he weighed in at 23 lbs. and 11 oz. My arms are getting pretty strong these days:)
