5 weeks and counting...
...and the belly is still getting bigger! The baby's movements (tumbling, squirming, punching, full-on dropkicks...) are also getting stronger. I've actually seen Brooke's whole body move while sitting on the couch just from the baby exercising in there.
As the belly gets bigger and the pregnancy progresses through the last few weeks, Brooke gets less comfortable and sleeps more fitfully - which means I sleep less. But the positive side is that we talk more between midnight and 4am than we ever used to.
And then it gets really, really, real! Yep, I took some time this weekend to assemble our new stroller and infant car seat. I walked around the living room carrying the infant car seat to get the feel of carting our little one around. I'm realizing that we'll NEVER travel light again.
This week Brooke and I took a tour of the maternity floor where she'll be delivering. As part of the tour we stopped by the nursery and saw some newborns... I couldn't stop staring. How completely amazing. As the "real-ness" continues to set in with strollers, car seats, diaper bags, etc... so does our excitement about holding our little one.

Wow! How exciting!! Brooke, you are SO having a girl!! Well, maybe...Ha! The word "miracle" seems trite, but once you experience it, you will see truly what a miracle birth is. Hand holding the baby in your arms just has no other feeling you've felt before! Can't wait to see/hold/snuggle/kiss that kid! Ha!
hey guys, I'm getting excited for you too. Just showed Dagmara your picture and was explaining to her that there's a baby in there :) Maybe she understands, I don't know. I like the stroller, I guess you're planning on taking jogs with the baby? and nope, you'll never travel light again...well maybe after 18 years or so :)
HJi! It took us 22 years to travel light again! Just wait and see... Göran
