I'll TRY!!!!!!

I know I know...it's been too long. I'll try to be better about blogging. A lot has happened since I last blogged. Isaiah has gotten HUGE, and Owen is in a big boy bed just to name a few. Isaiah will be 9months old on Monday and Owen is approaching age 3. It just doesn't seem possible. I saw a tiny baby yesterday and thought, "Wasn't Isaiah just that tiny last week???" It just goes too fast. We are having a great summer. The weather has been absolutely perfect. The boys and I go to the beach at least a couple times a week. Owen loves to build sand castles and Isaiah likes to eat the sand. Life is good here on the west coast:)

Dangerous games!

Life is so fun with 2 little boys in the house! Owen is starting to be more aware of Isaiah's presence. It's usually a question like, "Mommy, Isaiah sleep again now?" (when he wants Isaiah to go to sleep so that he can have undivided attention) and frantic yelling of "WHERE'S THE PACIFIER!?!" when Owen wants Isaiah to stop crying. It's pretty funny. I can't help but to laugh and that just makes Owen mad. Yes, he's sensitive;)

Isaiah was 3 months old yesterday. I am guessing he weighs around 12.5 lbs or so. He hasn't rolled over yet but it won't be long I'm sure. He is a fabulous sleeper, is the most smiley baby ever, and as of lately loves to sit in the bumbo and watch me cook. We are so lucky.

I have been trying to encourage some interaction with Owen and Isaiah lately, and trying to force a 2 year old to "play" with a baby is about impossible....so I took them both to the back yard a few days ago and let Owen push Isaiah around in a baby doll stroller. (yes-I was right next to them the whole time-laughing) Owen loved it and Isaiah had no idea what was going on, but didn't seem to mind it. Oh the trouble these boys are going to get into...I can't wait.

This is still the face we get when we tell Owen to smile...the half smile wink.

Boys Boys Boys

We have been very busy at the Hake household, chasing and potty training "little" Owen and changing LOTS of diapers on little Isaiah. Owen took it upon himself a few months back to start using the big potty. Unfortunately, it couldn't have been worse timing, but he is doing great and we are down to a diaper only during the night. It is nice not to have to change his diapers, but running to the bathroom with him while taking care of a newborn has proven to be challenging. We are getting the hang of it, finally, and someday I will wonder where the time went and wish that our boys were babies again...maybe...

Isaiah will be 8 weeks old tomorrow. He is starting to sleep a lot longer at night, thank goodness. He is becoming quite smiley and Owen LOVES to get in his face and occasionally try to test the durability of his eyeballs. So far so good. We go for his checkup on Feb. 8th so I will get the statistics then, but I do know that he is getting chubby little legs and is very chewable;)

I turn my head for 1 minute and Owen has put a sticker on Isaiah's nose and is showing me on himself where he put the sticker on Isaiah by shoving his finger right up his nostril. Nice;)

This kid LOVES to play in the water. Entertainment for hours. Thank goodness we live in a place where we can play in the water pretty much year round.

Happy Baby!

The fun has begun!

Greetings! We are feeling a little more settled now so hopefully I will be able to keep up with the blog! Sorry for the delay! We are enjoying the holidays with Grandparents and cousins visiting California. Isaiah is doing great. He is back to birthweight and is sleeping pretty well. Owen wants so badly to play with him and doesn't quite understand that Isaiah is too little right now:( Owen is so far enjoying being a big brother, although we all have no idea what we are in for when the grandparents leave and Matt goes back to work! Then Owen (and me too) will really be in shock!

ISAIAH REECE HAKE joins the family!!!

It's another boy! Brooke gave birth to Isaiah on Sunday afternoon. He's 7 lbs and 18.5 inches long. Mama and baby are doing well. Owen has been really receptive to, and very interested in his new baby brother. He pronounces his name "I-zAy-zah". Below are the first few pics and I'm sure there will be much more to come.

1st haircut and Halloween

What a whirlwind of a weekend. Owen got his first haircut on Halloween morning (other than a little trim of a raittail a few months back.) Although it was really cute when it was wet and curly, many times it turned into a mullet as you can see in the bottom pictures, so we figured we better cut it. Matt and I took turns creating the masterpiece and overall it turned out pretty well! Not sure if we will always cut it ourselves, but not too bad for the first one;) The pictures are a little out of order but you'll get the idea.
That afternoon Owen put on his yoda costume and we went to the Redondo Riviera Village where they close off streets and all of the businesses hand out candy. It was packed and quite chaotic but he had a blast and thankfully kept his cute little yoda hat on the whole time!
