Smiles and teeth!

Owen has been full of smiles lately. Of course when he is giggling and laughing, that is usually when we grab the camera. Yes, he has his fussy moments, but they are few and far between.

Look, I have two bottom teeth!

Owen loves his high chair. He eats veggies and cereal faster than we can spoon it in. He recently began putting his hand in his mouth right after we spoon food into it.

Who wouldn't wake up happy wearing guitar jammies?

I managed to catch a sweet Mommy and Owen moment (if you haven't figured it out by now, Daddy is blogging this time).

Honey, were'd we put Owen?

Owen is now able to sit by himself. He's also effortlessly rolling from his tummy to his back. At the rate he's going, I'm afraid I'll come home from work next week to find that he has made himself a sandwich and is sitting on the couch watching CNN.

He just gets more and more fun every day!

Spring has sprung!

Owen has moved on up to the high chair to eat these days. I think he could sit in it playing all day! He is loving the new food, especially sweet potatoes. We are making our own baby food, and we have already found out that he does NOT like avacados! Definitely not sweet like the sweet potatoes, but he is liking the peas and squash at least.

Daddy thinks it's funny to make Owen look silly and take pictures. I'm sure Owen will get revenge on Matt someday!

Owen listening while Daddy says silly things to him.
Happy 1st Easter Owen! He got some new clothes in his basket, and also a few books and clothes from the Grandparents too!

Almost 6 months!

What a busy few weeks we have had. I am on spring break this week so I have been able to be home with Owen. Now it's going to be extra hard to go back on Monday! Grandma Fultz is here and we have had so much fun shopping and running around. We went to a mall a few days ago and we ran into the Easter Bunny. I was not prepared for it (no cute outfit) but he sat on his lap without any problems and we got to snap a quick pic!
On another note, we had his 6 month checkup today although he won't be 6 months until next week. He weighs 18 lbs. 3 oz and is 27 in. long. Growing baby...must be all the new food he is eating:)

Grandma Fultz got to watch Owen for a few days. They had a blast.
Sleepy boys.

Owen is teething and biting his bottom lip all the time.
"Look at my new shoes!"
Owen has decided that he likes to arch his back and try to get out of the bumbo. Not sure where he thinks he's going but he sure works hard!

A fun week!

We had so much fun with Aunt Lisa and Nicholas this past week. Owen got so much attention and SO many kisses! We went on many outings with them. We went to The Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific, the beach, and to dinner a couple times. We were all exhausted by the end of the week, but it was well worth it!
Owen's "cough" is in full force and he now chooses to use it rather than giggle! It is pretty funny to see him do it though.
Grandma Fultz will be here this week! We can't wait!

5 months old!

Well, we have survived another crazy week. Matt stayed home with Owen last week while I went back to work. They had a blast going on walks, playing at home, and I think Matt was excited to have a very attentive audience to play the guitar to! When Matt played, Owen would flap his arms and watch and listen like he was his biggest fan. This first pic is one that Matt took when they got back from a walk...notice the guitar;) Matt is now convinced that he could be a stay-at-home Dad....it's WAY better than work!
This is the new face Owen loves to make. He is teething so he likes to pull in that bottom lip and kinda chew on it.
Here is our 5 month old who now weighs 17 lbs!
Here is day 2 of cereal. By the end, he was opening his mouth when we picked up the spoon. I guess he likes it!
"Now when did you say I could start feeding myself?"

One last day...

Owen's personality is really showing these days. He is quite funny, making funny faces and doing little things for attention. Most recently, he has discovered how to make himself "cough" which usually follows a loud squeal. It is really funny. He is also getting 2 TEETH! We discovered this about a week ago when Owen was a slobbery mess and a little fussy. I thought there was no way he could be getting teeth already, but low and behold he is getting one on the top and bottom. He will be 5 months old next week. At his 4 month checkup he weighed 16lbs. 1 oz. so I will be excited to see what he weighs next week. We don't have an appt. but there is a little place around the corner to where we live where you can take your baby in to be weighed at any time.
Owen is starting to roll over a little more. He has done it several times, just doesn't seem too interested to do it all the time. OK with me!

I sit here while Owen is napping bummed and sad that I have to go back to work tomorrow;( He is changing so much every day and I wish that I could be here to watch everything that he does! It will go fast I'm sure. Aunt Lisa and cousin Nicholas will be here in a couple weeks to visit. We are looking forward to spring break already when Grandma Fultz will be out to visit, and Grandma Hake will be coming in May to hang out too! We will be so busy that school will be out before we know it...C'MON SUMMER!
Owen insists on having his hands either ON the bottle or wrapped around it.

This is the fussy "my gums HURT" face.

Weekend Getaway

After a rough week of bottle "stuff" and a hard work week for Matt, we decided to get away for a long weekend...the first road trip and little vacation for the three of us. It was a fabulous weekend and Owen did a great job, despite pulling over on the shoulder of a crazy freeway to be fed, and sleeping not-so-good at night. We had fun taking him in the pool for the first time. He seemed very confused by the pool thing, but didn't cry. We now have the confidence to travel with him whether it be by plane or car. Now it's back to reality with only 9 days left before I have to go back to work. I can guarantee the blogging will slow down, so I put up quite a few pictures on this one.

Owen and Matt on the lazy river.

This is the confused look we saw a lot in the pool.
Just lounging.
